Selective Six-Week Live Intensive for Emerging Leaders. Completed Online: June 21–July 29, 2027
Elite Development Should Complement Summer, Not Consume It
In competitive spaces, clarity and presence distinguish the capable from the exceptional.
High achievement alone does not guarantee influence.
The bridge from academic excellence to leadership presence requires strategic command and composure.
A six-week live remote intensive in executive-level communication and leadership presence for the rising junior, senior, college freshman preparing for high-stakes settings
Participate from wherever summer takes you: No accommodations to make; no disruption to family plans.
Participation is limited to a small cohort. Our Commitment: If this is not the right fit after the first week, receive a frictionless full refund.
The New Standard of Excellence: Presence & Precision
In top-tier academic and professional circles, high intelligence is the baseline, not the differentiator. Even exceptional scholars are often outpaced by peers who communicate with greater clarity and authority.
Despite their intelligence, most capable scholars still encounter three quiet barriers.
Barrier 1: The Influence Gap (Intelligence vs. Authority)
Intelligence Without Presence Stalls Leadership
We teach high achievers how to stop just answering the question and start directing the entire conversation.
The pressure is palpable.
Be exceptional.
Be impressive.
Be unforgettable.
And yet in seminar discussions, interviews, leadership forums, or high-stakes presentations, they hesitate.
The moment to contribute arrives... and doubt intervenes.
The cost is subtle but cumulative.
Opportunities flow toward those who enter the room with composure and speak with authority.
Barrier 2: Summer Slide (Maintaining the Edge)
Protect Your Investment: Communication Skills Are Your Student’s Most Perishable Asset
While peers reset, your student can use this summer to refine the elite interpersonal skills that separate the participants from the leaders.
Summer brings travel, internships, athletics, and family commitments.
But without structured intellectual engagement, growth stalls precisely when peers are advancing.
Confidence, like any discipline, strengthens through deliberate repetition.
When practice pauses for two months, the competitive gap does not.
It widens.
Barrier 3: The AI Paradox (Human Currency)
The Human Differentiator: Developing the One Skill AI Can Never Replicate
In a world of automated content, a disciplined human voice is the new premium currency for elite college and career success.
Scholars are entering an academic and professional world transformed by artificial intelligence.
Information is abundant.
Originality is scrutinized.
Surface-level fluency is easily replicated.
What remains distinctly human, and increasingly valuable, is disciplined thinking, ethical judgment, and articulate presence.
Those who can express ideas with clarity and conviction will stand apart.
Those who cannot risk becoming indistinguishable.

Introducing
Summer Scholars 2027 Communication Confidence Intensive
Inaugural Cohort Convenes Online, June 21–July 29, 2027
A summer experience of distinction, crafted for ambitious scholars ready to rise.
We transform academic potential into confident, credible presence through:
- Live Instruction & Coaching: Real-time, deliberate practice.
- Earned Authority: Developing the ability to contribute meaningfully under pressure.
- Total Flexibility: Gain the advantage from anywhere, with no disruption to family plans.
The Solution
Scholars do not need more content.
They need guided practice;
Precise, individualized feedback;
A structured environment that builds voice, intellectual confidence, and leadership presence.
Summer Scholars Confidence Intensive Online provides this depth and breadth.
Summer Scholars Intensive is not a typical summer program. Many larger collegiate programs are designed to scale. We are deliberately small and personal. A selective online cohort for scholars whose futures will depend as much on how they communicate as on what they know.
In a supportive yet rigorous environment, scholars cultivate:
• Executive-level speaking confidence
• Thoughtful participation in demanding discussions
• Persuasive clarity under pressure
• Personal presence in leadership settings
Through live seminars, guided 8-member small-group work, and individualized coaching, scholars practice communicating in real time, and receive actionable feedback that builds lasting confidence.
The energy, grit, and vibrancy of my live, in-person workshops and college classrooms are replicated for scholars chosen for my Summer Scholars Intensive.
Attention. Connection. Success.
Measurable Growth
Families and schools consistently require:
- Increased academic participation
- Stronger peer collaboration
- Greater self-advocacy
- Noticeable speaking confidence
- Leadership readiness
These are the qualities no test score can measure yet every opportunity rewards.
And because the program is fully online, scholars can continue family travel and summer commitments without sacrificing intellectual momentum.
- No relocation.
- No disruption.
- No compromise.
Just growth.
Who This Is For
and Who It Is Not
This Experience Is For:
- Scholars in independent, selective, or academically rigorous schools
- Rising juniors, seniors, and college freshmen preparing for high-level academic and leadership environments
- Scholars who are intellectually capable but want greater confidence expressing their ideas
- Families who value mentorship, accountability, and meaningful growth
- NextGen seeking growth in anticipation of leadership positions within family office and boardroom environments
- Scholars willing to participate fully and stretch beyond comfort
This Experience Is Not For:
- Scholars seeking a casual or purely social summer activity
- Families primarily comparison-shopping on price
- Scholars unwilling to participate actively in live discussions
- Those looking for self-paced, anonymous online coursework
Summer Scholars is designed for scholars who understand that their future will depend not only on what they know, but on how powerfully they can express it.
A Summer Scholars experience isn’t just a summer program, it’s an investment in your scholar’s future success, leadership potential, and lifelong confidence.
Selective. Supportive. Serious about growth.

I still lean on what he taught: how to breathe, organize my thoughts, and speak with authority even when my hands shake. I recommend this to anyone who wants to not just communicate better, but to lead with self-understanding.

Founding Director, Summer Scholars
University Educator
I have spent more than 25 years teaching scholars how to think clearly, speak confidently, and participate meaningfully in demanding academic environments.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and longtime college and university faculty member, I have guided hundreds of scholars through seminar discussions, presentations, and leadership settings where composure and clarity matter.
Again and again, I observed something important:
Even exceptional scholars often hesitate when it’s time to speak; not because they lack intelligence, but because they haven’t been trained to translate thought into confident expression under real-time pressure.
Summer Scholars Intensive was created to address that gap.
My approach combines structured live discussion, individualized feedback, and intellectual challenge in a format designed specifically for high-achieving scholars who are ready to strengthen not just their résumé, but their presence.
Universities and Colleges Where I’ve Taught

25 Years of Scholar Transformation and Success
Confidence is not a feeling.
It is an observable behavior.
My scholars don’t just improve their grades, they become leaders in class, industry, and life.
Below are reflections that show real transformation.
Guest Speakers
Each week this summer we feature at least one guest speaker. These industry guests provide scholars with real-world perspectives on the professional importance of communication, and how they transform communication concepts into practical, relatable career insights.
Their presence also offers networking opportunities and specialized expertise that boosts scholar engagement and confidence through direct interaction with diverse industry role models.

A Letter From the Director
Dear Parents,
If you are considering this program, you already understand something important:
Your child’s future will depend not only on intelligence but on the ability to communicate with clarity, confidence, and presence.
Over the past twenty-five years, I have worked with ambitious young people in highly competitive academic environments. I have seen firsthand that the scholars who advance are not always the ones with the highest test scores. They are the ones who participate thoughtfully. Who articulate their ideas clearly. Who carry themselves with quiet authority.
Many capable scholars struggle more than they admit. They hesitate in discussion. They second-guess themselves. They feel the pressure to shine, yet remain unseen.
It should not be this difficult for bright, thoughtful scholars to express what they know.
Summer Scholars Intensive was created to provide structured practice, high-level feedback, and a supportive cohort where confidence is built deliberately, not left to chance.
If your child is ready to grow in that way, I would be honored to welcome them in as a 2027 Inaugural Cohort Summer Scholar, and to work with them this summer.
You are in the right place.
Warmly,

It is a lifelong multiplier.

- Greater participation in rigorous academic settings
- Increased leadership opportunities
- Stronger performance in interviews and presentations
- Improved self-advocacy
- Enhanced peer, faculty, and family office engagement
Over time, these advantages compound.
A scholar who participates confidently:
Is noticed.
Is recommended.
Is trusted with responsibility.
Is remembered.
In selective academic and professional environments, the ability to think clearly and communicate with authority often distinguishes those who advance from those who remain capable but unseen.
Summer Scholars is not designed for short-term enrichment.
It is designed to accelerate a scholar's long-term trajectory.
